This website provides a brief introduction to the martial art of karate, which as well as being a means of self-defence and a combat sport, is also a system of self-improvement and health-giving exercise. From one perspective karate can be thought of as resembling fast and strenuous Tai Chi, with all the benefits of Tai Chi to health and wellbeing.
